This page explains what data Domesio collects, why, and which services help us run the app.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

What Domesio collects

When you sign in and use the app, Domesio stores the data you enter, including:

  • ·Your name and email address, from Google, Apple, or email and password sign-in (used for your account and household membership)
  • ·Household names, member roles, and invite records
  • ·Inventories, locations, items, quantities, and item details you create
  • ·Shopping lists, recipes, meal plans, tasks, custom lists, and price records
  • ·Budgets, spending, and shared expense records you choose to enter
  • ·Your Premium subscription status (we never see your full card number; payments are handled by Apple, Google Play, or Stripe)
  • ·A device token for push notifications, if you turn notifications on
  • ·Feedback you submit through the Feedback page
  • ·Activity history from actions you take in the app

Please don't store passwords, bank card numbers, or medical information in item names or notes. Domesio's budgeting features never need them.

How we use your data

  • ·To run the app: store your inventories, show your household data, and let household members work together.
  • ·Feedback you submit may be reviewed to diagnose issues and improve the product.
  • ·We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers listed below, and only so they can help run Domesio.

Device permissions

The mobile app only asks for these when you use the feature that needs them, and you can turn them off anytime in your device settings:

  • ·Camera: scanning product barcodes and receipts
  • ·Photos: choosing a receipt or image to scan
  • ·Microphone and speech recognition: adding shopping list items by voice
  • ·Notifications: reminders, low-stock alerts, and household updates

Service providers

These companies process data on our behalf to provide parts of Domesio:

  • ·Vercel and Neon: hosting the website, app server, and database
  • ·Google Gemini: reading recipe text and links you import, and receipt photos you choose to scan, to turn them into items; and, when you ask for recipe ideas, the names, amounts, and dates of your food items (not your name or email), to suggest recipes
  • ·Sentry: error reports so we can find and fix bugs
  • ·Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics: how the website and app are used
  • ·Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, and Stripe: Premium subscriptions and payments
  • ·Amazon SES and Resend: account emails such as invites and password resets
  • ·Expo: delivering push notifications
  • ·Google AdMob and Google AdSense: ads for free users

Analytics

Domesio uses Google Analytics on the website and Firebase Analytics in the mobile app to understand how the app is used (screens visited, features used) so we can improve it. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect anonymized usage data. This data is not linked to your inventory or household contents.

Affiliate links

Shopping list items include a "Buy online" link that searches for the item on Amazon. These links may be affiliate links, meaning Domesio may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Advertising

Public pages of Domesio (such as the homepage, help center, and sign-up page) may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses this data and manage your ad preferences at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Free users also see ads in the Domesio mobile app, served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on your activity in other apps and websites, depending on your device settings and choices. On iPhone you can limit this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and on Android in your Google ad settings. Premium removes ads from the app.

Keeping your data safe

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with our hosting providers. We work to keep it safe, but no online service can promise it will never be lost, so you can export a copy of your data anytime from the Account page.

Data and privacy requests

Signed-in users can export a portable JSON copy of their data or permanently delete their account from the Account page. For other questions or requests, use the Feedback page and choose Data/privacy request as the area. Manual requests are handled within 30 days.

Do not include passwords, security tokens, or screenshots with private account details in your request.

Children

Domesio is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Policy updates

This policy will be updated as the service expands. Continued use of Domesio after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
